On a recent visit to Alsace, I had the pleasure of rediscovering the region’s diverse wine offerings, from crisp Rieslings to  Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. What struck me during this trip was how integral sweetness is to perfecting a food and wine pairing—a nuance that can vary greatly between a youthful bottle and a more aged vintage.

Finally got to the much talked about @dorian.nottinghill yesterday and it didn’t disappoint. It’s surprisingly small, loud and very expensive but the food and the flavour combinations are brilliant. Love the fact that they have 5 kinds of rosti on the menu (though they are just bites) and two kinds of offal including ox tongue and sweetbreads. And that lobster tail is insanely good as it should be for £65. (Bear in mind the clientele though. It’s reputedly @victoriabeckhambeauty’s favourite restaurant - she even named a handbag after it.) Don’t be put off, it’s fun, buzzy and if you’re careful about what you order just about affordable.
